About me
Julia Sharpe-Levine (she/they) is a Brooklyn based artist, educator and organizer committed to using media to fight for social justice and collective liberation. Prior to 2023, she spent 8 years leading arts and media programming at the African American Policy Forum, a nonprofit under the leadership of Kimberlé Crenshaw that advocates for an intersectional vision of racial justice. From 2019-2022, they served as Executive Producer and lead editor of the hit podcast Intersectionality Matters, recipient of a 2021 Webby Award, and she currently edits the podcast Plantscendence. They teach theatre classes and lead LGBTQ+ groups throughout NYC, and produce nonfiction films for various NGOs and grassroots organizations. She’s currently working on a documentary about the late activist Shatzi Weisberger entitled The People’s Bubbie, and holds degrees from CUNY (MA in Applied Theatre) and Vassar College.
